The program's event honors women and corporations in the technology field who exemplify volunteer service in the community. The awards ceremony was held at the Hilton McLean in Tysons Corner, VA on Friday, November 9th. Kazor was one of fifteen finalists out of hundreds of nominations in the Corporate Heroines Category.
The 12th annual Heroines in Technology presented by Armed Forces Communications and Electronic Association, Northern Virginia chapter (AFCEA NOVA) and March of Dimes is a testimonial gala that recognizes and honors significant contributions of women for their outstanding commitment to community service. The event successfully raised more than $180,000 to support local March of Dimes programs around research, community services, education and advocacy to reduce the occurrence of birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Since its inception, the program has honored 67 "heroines" and raised more than $1.4 million to support the March of Dimes. Kazor was nominated for consistently using her experience, knowledge and skills to benefit and support her local community.
"I am honored to have been selected as one of the finalists," said Ms. Kazor. "Today women in business are committed to improving the lives of others and making sure their companies make a significant impact in the communities around us. This program is very unique in recognizing these very important contributions made by women."
